CHILD RESCUE PROGRAM
Each day, there are
children in the Angeles and throughout the Philippines being
tricked, kidnapped, lured and forced into the sex industry.
Trafficking is the
recruitment, transport and transfer of children, through
abduction, deception or force, in order to exploit them in some
way. The most common forms of exploitation are sexual
exploitation, including prostitution.
Children are often
trafficked because they or their families desperately need to
earn money, but have few or no other opportunities to do so.
Traffickers take advantage of the situation and make lucrative
profits from vulnerable children who can easily be tricked or
forced.
RENEW's Response:
While RENEW's primary mission and resources are directed to
rescuing and sheltering prostituted and trafficked Filipino
women (aged 18 years and above), RENEW has a unique position in
Angeles in that we work and outreach to many of the areas of the
city where children are forced into prostitution and other forms
of commercial sexual exploitation. RENEW is therefore able
to identify these children and intervene rescuing them,
providing immediate assistance before referring them to one of
our partner organizations. One of which is PREDA
Foundation - the main organisation that we refer our
rescued children to (contact details below):
