SHELTER

RENEW's Shelter or 'kanlungan' (Tagalog for 'refuge') in Mabalacat accommodates trafficked and prostituted women who receive access to the full range of RENEW's services, including extensive opportunities to enter alternative employment.  The shelter allows us to expand the work we do and offer further restorative services to prostituted and trafficked women.

The shelter is located  in a quiet and calm environment, as opposed to the hustle and bustles of the red light districts and the abusive environments of forced prostitution. This provides a perfect location for women to overcome their past abusive experiences, earn an income that betters their salaries from the bars (or other sex establishments), and most importantly helps them to recover emotionally, spiritually and physically. At the end of their time in the shelter we aim to have equipped them with the skills and knowledge to live independently or to return to their family homes - we also ensure that they have good employment and safe housing.
